About
Garden strawberries. Sweet red fruit; runners spread the patch over time.
Growing
Pinch first-year flowers to build the plant. Renovate the bed after fruiting each year.
Harvest
Pick at about 1 in when fully red with no white or green shoulders. Choose firm, glossy, fragrant berries; pinch the stem about 1/4 in above the cap so the cap stays on, which extends shelf life. Pick every 1–2 days — best eaten the day picked.
